Some fiction is true.

Truth, however, is a matter of perspective.

Dear Reader/Listener/Viewer/Participator:

Lest I be judged for it, I inform you now that this project continues to be a scratch pad, a space for experimentation. In other words, enjoy what you find here, and feel free to participate -- but try not to take anything personal, and don't believe that this project presents an accurate view of me or my life. This is a window, certainly, but one that hasn't been cleaned in quite some time. Your view may be foggy, obscure...you may see things that aren't really there...

Want some background music? Please consider tuning in to my Internet radio station VoyagerRadio, which is currently and illegally podcasting Tempo of the Down.

All my respect to the best storyteller I've ever listened to:

Joe Frank

And yes, I love my mom and my dad; they were always good to me, no matter what impression you may have received here. They never locked me in a cellar or anything.

Here's a link to one of my past audio recordings, which you may download:

There once were more links to audio listed here. Perhaps I will make them available again someday; otherwise, you'll find links to the audio by perusing the Archive. (See below.)

"Wouldn't it be nice...", as the Beach Boys sang, and I'm looking at an image of Pixar Studios on the web and I'm thinking, wouldn't that be a fun place to work? Of course, I am neither an animator nor a computer programmer, but still--wouldn't it be nice to work somewhere fun? And that's my idea of fun--somewhere on the cutting edge of technology, utilizing current-and-always-verging-on-the-future tools to create, create, and create. Hell, sweeping the floors would be fun in a place like that. (Well, depressing too--always longing to burn your creative juices, pining for a motivator like Mr. Disney or the notorious Mr. Jobs to help keep the action hot--but I would probably find a way to keep things interesting.) Like come up with concepts, stories, and ideas to pitch while the animators pore over storyboards. I'll be the idea man, the Good Will Hunting of the studio hallways, composing ideas on the chalkboards during my lunch break. Sooner or later someone will discover me, and then I'll awake from this dream. 5/30/2003 01:22:00 PM (0) comments

Still working on that story, although today, I must confess, did not turn out to be a work day. Believe me, though, something much more important came up. If I could do my thousand words (that's a thousand words day, according to Ms. See right now I would, but I can't. The house needs to sleep, and I do, too. Tomorrow's an early day, if I can pry myself out of bed that early. 5/20/2003 09:46:00 PM (0) comments

So I've been working on a short story, offline, for the past week, and I'm happy to report that it's coming along, although I don't know exactly how it is going to end. I have a vague notion of where it's going; or perhaps it's not so vague. Maybe that notion I have is as solid a notion as it gets. I'm thinking I may submit this story, and try to get it published somewhere, when it's done. When it's done. Let's hope this streak continues. 5/19/2003 02:38:00 PM (0) comments

Although this blog is still evolving, emerging, becoming whatever it is bound to become (or perhaps it's there already), it does have a new domain name, and that's SomethingThatHappened.com. Which cements its validity, right? Hmmm... So write it down, remember it, come back to it, link to it, do what you may with it--but get it out there somehow, or it will forever be that soundless tree of the web. (If you see results after following that link then perhaps you are of the future.) 5/15/2003 02:21:00 PM (0) comments

Mom in the dark confines of the bar, a big, greasy, hairy man hovering over her, attempting to plant another big, greasy, hairy kiss on her lips. Mom resisting, him caving in on her, she giving in, for the moment. Him offering her some beer. Here's a bottle, take it. Go on, you can have it. Mom holding the bottle, a child with candy. Me glaring at the guy, who the fuck are you? This is my mom, buddy. Respect her. 5/06/2003 08:07:00 AM (0) comments

I now have sometime-access to a wireless phone, from which I will be able to blog. Look for more spectacular and short posts here, or perhaps spectacularly short posts. This is good news for you, I would hope, since I'll be able to post more often. I promise to make those shorter posts interesting and worthwhile, as subjective as that is. 5/05/2003 10:00:00 AM (0) comments
